Last night I dealt at the Michael J. Fox Foundation Casino Night and Poker Tournament. The event was hosted by Michael J. Fox, with Phil Gordon moderating. I got to rub some elbows with both folks as well as comedian and twittertarian Michael Ian Black during break. Couldn’t take photos, for obvious reasons, but there was no way I couldn’t get involved when the following happened.
During the event, I, for the first time in three years, dealt a HEARTS ROYAL FLUSH, which was preserved for twitter glory by Phil Gordon:
Because I was in the midst of work, I asked him to email me the photo, which he graciously did. This was the first time I dealt a royal in 3 years and the last time I dealt it, it was also a hearts royal.
Wikipedia notes that the odds of getting a royal is 1 in 649,739, although not as rare as a blue moon, it’s pretty damn close.
Woody, who caught the royal, unfortunately did not win. The prize, a seat at the 2014 WSOP tournament went to a guy named Justin. Good luck to you, dude.
I think I should buy a win for life ticket.
