June through August is when most non-profits prepare for their Winter and Spring events, since most folks generally take their vacations during the Summer months.
So what should you do during your Summer break? For players, there’s always a game or two happening. I’d throw in some strategy books into your reading list as well.
As for non-profits, this article is more for you. The truth of the matter is, this is about the time where you want to start gearing up or doing some rallying from companies for support for your event. This is also a good time to talk to potential event partners and vendors about scheduling. In other words, it’s time for the legwork, therefore there’s no time off for you.
For new non-profits, this would be a good time to start communicating with other non-profits who have hosted this kind of event and get some sort of idea on what to expect when you’re throwing your first casino/poker fundraiser.
Just a note, you’re more than welcome to contact us at onthefeltmag@gmail.com if you have any additional questions about how to host your event, and please feel free to comment below.
